A burger restaurant in High Wycombe has been awarded the highest possible food hygiene rating following its latest inspection.

Bun Squad, in Oxford Street, received a five-star rating, meaning "very good", after a visit from Buckinghamshire Council inspectors on July 15.

The restaurant, at 42-43 Oxford Street, was rated "good" in all three inspection categories: food hygiene and safety, structural compliance, and confidence in management.

Bun Squad opened in February 2023 after plans for the restaurant were approved the previous year.

It replaced the former A-Plan Insurance premises, opposite the former Pure Nightclub in the town centre.

The business serves a range of burgers, chicken dishes, loaded fries and milkshakes.

Food hygiene ratings are awarded under the national Food Hygiene Rating Scheme and are intended to help customers make informed choices about where they eat.

Businesses are assessed on food handling, cleanliness and food safety management.

The latest inspection result adds to Bun Squad's strong reputation among customers, as the restaurant currently holds a rating of 4.6 out of five from 332 online reviews.

One reviewer said: "Amazing place! Came for a get together with friends, food was delicious and very tasty.
