A fundraising campaign has been launched to help replace equipment stolen from Manor Farm Schools in Hazlemere after an alleged series of break-ins and acts of vandalism.

Fundraising is underway for Friends of Manor Farm Schools, the parent-teacher association (PTA), after trespassers repeatedly forced their way onto school grounds over three consecutive weekends.

The GoFundMe page set up says that storage sheds containing equipment and resources funded through PTA fundraising efforts were entered during the incidents.

Among the items stolen were two brand-new gazebos, which were used to provide shade for children during periods of hot weather and at school events.

Apparently, vandals also damaged the sheds and left behind smashed alcohol bottles, creating additional work for staff and raising safety concerns.

Friends of Manor Farm Schools said teachers had spent Monday mornings searching school grounds for broken glass and other hazards before pupils arrived.

The organisation described the incidents as “shocking” and said it was both saddened and angered by the repeated attacks.

The GoFundMe page reads: “Our local school community has recently experienced a shocking level of vandalism and theft.

“Over the last three weekends, trespassers have persistently broken into the school grounds and forced their way into our storage sheds.

“These sheds hold equipment and resources provided by our PTA funds and are used in special events for our children.”

The statement also added that the theft of the gazebos and the damage caused had had a significant impact on the school community.

“We are shocked and angry at the persistent disregard for our children, school staff and community who often come together at school events,” the page said.

Despite the setback, the group said it was determined to focus on a positive response and bring the community together to recover from the losses.

Rather than dwell on the damage caused, page encourages local residents to support efforts to replace the stolen and damaged equipment.

Money raised will go towards repairing the vandalised sheds, replacing essential resources and helping to ensure children continue to benefit from a safe and welcoming environment.

The appeal has already begun gathering support, with organisers hopeful that the community will rally behind the school.

Currently it has raised £3,223 of the target amount of £3,500, with 119 donations having been made.

The GoFundMe page reads: “Every donation, big or small, will help us repair the damage, replace essential equipment, and ensure our children continue to enjoy a safe, welcoming, and well-equipped school environment.

“If you're able to support, we'd be incredibly grateful.

"Together, we can turn something negative into something positive for our children.”
