Flood alerts have been issued in the Buckinghamshire area as water levels remain high and more rain is expected later today.

The area faces three flood alerts today due to rising river levels, meaning flooding is possible.

Warnings have been issued for Remenham and Medmenham, including Middle and Lower Assendon on the Assendon Stream, and Skirmett and Hambleden on the Hambledon Brook.

A flood alert has also been issued for the River Thame from Marsworth to Dorchester.

Areas in Buckinghamshire affected are Marsworth, Long Marston, Rowsham, North Aylesbury, Cuddington and Princes Risborough.

Residents living in Remenham, Medmenham and its tributaries have also been advised to avoid low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses.

The flood 'alerts' are the least severe category of warning the government flood monitoring service can issue, but they still indicate that flooding is possible in the designated area.

The government's flooding service has confirmed that river levels remains high in the Marlow area from Hurley to Cookham.

Further rainfall is forecast overnight which will continue into tomorrow.

There will be highs of 10C and a low of 6C in High Wycombe today (Thursday, Friday 4).
