Five people have been named as new Deputy Lieutenants for Buckinghamshire.

The appointments include Dr I. Stephanie Boyce CBE, Graeme Dell, Group Captain Anne-Marie Houghton OBE, Frank Purcell BEM, and Gamiel Yafai MBE.

Each will support HM Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, The Countess Howe, in promoting the county’s wellbeing, representing the Crown at local events, and supporting voluntary and community activity.

Lady Howe said: "These Deputy Lieutenant appointments come with my warmest wishes for a successful and rewarding period in office.

"Each brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to serving the community and have so much to offer the county.

"I look forward to working with them for the benefit of our communities."

Dr Boyce is a solicitor and former President of the Law Society of England and Wales, where she was the first person of colour to hold the position.

Born in Buckinghamshire, she has championed diversity, social mobility, and access to justice throughout her career.

She was awarded a CBE in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours.

Mr Dell is a business leader, technical author, and a Department for Business & Trade Export Champion.

He also has a background in sport, having served as a national football coach and currently serves on The FA Council and is a UEFA Match Delegate and FIFA Technical Expert.

Group Captain Houghton has served nearly 40 years in the Royal Air Force.

She became the RAF’s first female navigator in 1991, logged more than 4,000 flying hours, and held senior roles at the Ministry of Defence.

She volunteers with the Maidenhead RAF Air Cadets and the Wycombe District Swimming Club, and in 2021 was awarded an OBE.

Mr Purcell, managing director of M&M Supplies UK PLC, has lived in Milton Keynes all his life. He is married with four daughters.

Around 25 per cent of the company’s workforce are people with disabilities and it supports the local food bank, which operates from the company’s premises.

Mr Yafai is founder and CEO of Diversity Marketplace, a consultancy focused on inclusion since 2005.

He co-founded the MK Ethnic Business Community and sits on the board of Women Leaders UK.

He received an MBE in 2025 for services to diversity, equality, and inclusion and holds an honorary doctorate from the Open University.

Deputy Lieutenants play a key role in supporting the Lord-Lieutenant’s work.

There are currently 31 Deputy Lieutenants serving the county, each helping to strengthen connections between communities and the Crown.
