New Year’s Day brought seven new arrivals into the world at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The first baby of the day, a girl weighing just over 9lbs, was born at 02:24 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Her parents expressed their appreciation for the care they received.

The parents said: "Our midwives were a massive part of our journey.

"Honestly, we couldn’t have done it without them.

"There were so many times I thought I was going to break, and they helped deliver the most precious thing."

In 2025, the trust’s maternity and neonatal teams supported more than 4,400 births, including 68 sets of twins.

Michelle East, director of midwifery, said: "Starting the year with such special arrivals is truly heart-warming.

"Congratulations to all the families and best wishes for a healthy and happy 2026."
