A museum visit turned into a day of magic and memories for families.

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden welcomed families who might otherwise have been unable to attend on Friday, July 31, for a day filled with storytelling and hands-on activities.

A packed schedule of activities included garden games, illustration trails, and interactive storytelling inspired by Fantastic Mr Fox.

Families were given free entry to the museum, lunch, refreshments, and coach transport.

Emma Bedlow, Interim Director of the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, said: "Stories have the power to inspire, build confidence and bring families together, and we believe every child should have the opportunity to experience that, regardless of their circumstances.

"Thanks to the generous support of The Clare Foundation, and by working with community partners, we were able to remove many of the barriers that prevent families from visiting us, allowing them to simply enjoy spending time together.

"Seeing children and parents creating, laughing and sharing stories together throughout the day was a wonderful reminder of why widening access to culture matters."

The museum worked with The Clare Foundation and distribution points recommended by Opportunity Bucks to identify and invite families who would benefit most from the experience.
