Dear Editor,

I am from a Slough family and have always loved my town. I am a 93-year-old woman and came out of hospital six weeks ago, but I am not allowed or ready to go out on my own yet, as I have trouble with my legs and walking is not possible at the moment.

My son and his wife took me out last week for a trip in my wheelchair as a treat, and the weather was so good.

I was absolutely disgusted by the state of the pathways. It was very difficult for them to push my chair, so it was a very uncomfortable journey for me, and I was worried my chair would tip over.

Of course, things have changed since I was young, when you only saw one or two cars.

I understand Slough Borough Council must find it difficult to keep up with these problems.

Perhaps if people kept the small amount of space around their cars clear, things would be easier for all of us — and people like me could still enjoy a little of life now. I want my Slough to be my Slough again.
