Eight Buckinghamshire parks have been recognised among the best in the country.

Each has retained its Green Flag Award, an international standard for well-managed, safe and welcoming green spaces.

The Green Flag Award is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces, recognising sites that are welcoming, safe, well-maintained and managed to the highest standards.

This year’s winners in Buckinghamshire include Higginson Park in Marlow, Vale Park and Bedgrove Park in Aylesbury, and Heartlands in Buckingham.

Other recognised sites are Hughenden Park and The Rye in High Wycombe, as well as Black Park and Langley Park country parks.

Peter Brazier, cabinet member for culture and leisure at Buckinghamshire Council, said: "The Green Flag Awards are fantastic recognition of the high standards we continue to achieve across Buckinghamshire's parks and green spaces, and a testament to the professionalism and dedication of our parks teams, rangers, volunteers, and community partners."

The council continues to invest in park improvements across the county.
