A shopping centre has been awarded gold in recognition of its commitment to customer service.

Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe received top honours for Service Excellence at the SME Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire Business Awards at a ceremony held on Tuesday, April 28, in Milton Keynes.

The SME awards celebrate the achievements of small and medium-sized businesses across the region and recognise outstanding performance in innovation, growth, and customer experience.

Eden’s gold award highlights its sustained commitment to delivering high-quality service throughout the centre.

Andrew Norton, centre director at Eden Shopping Centre, said: "Winning Gold for Service Excellence is an incredibly proud moment for the entire team at Eden.

"This award recognises the genuine passion, care, and commitment our teams bring every day to creating a positive experience for everyone who visits, works, and spends time here.

"We’re extremely proud to represent High Wycombe on such a prestigious platform."

The shopping centre was shortlisted for three awards on the night, marking another milestone in its track record of high performance.

Central to Eden’s success is its Customer Service Policy and Charter, which underpins all aspects of its operations.

The centre views customer service as more than just serving visitors.

Eden sees customers as tenants, partners, and staff, and aims to provide a consistently high-quality experience for everyone.

All team members complete Savills World Host customer service training, and their development is monitored through a centralised system.

Service standards are assessed through monthly mystery shopping, with Eden achieving multiple 100 per cent scores and maintaining an annual average exceeding 97 per cent.

Customer feedback is actively sought and used to guide improvements.

The centre offers a dedicated customer service desk, multiple feedback channels, and a proactive, solutions-led approach to resolving enquiries and concerns.

Over the past year, Eden has also shown the broader impact of its service-led approach.

The centre welcomed more than 12 million visitors, hosted 21 community events, and raised £10,500 for the local charity Heart of Bucks.

Mr Norton said: "Our approach to customer service goes far beyond the traditional definition, it’s about creating a welcoming, inclusive and community-focused environment where people feel valued.

"To also be shortlisted for three awards is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the consistency and dedication across all areas of the business."

Eden Shopping Centre is managed by Savills and described as one of Buckinghamshire’s leading retail and leisure destinations.
