Two drivers have been given hefty fines after they were caught littering along the Buckinghamshire-Berkshire border.

The first incident occurred on August 19 this year along Crow Piece Lane in Burnham.

The individual in question was caught on CCTV throwing a food wrapper out of a moving car.

Whilst the item was small, this is considered fly-tipping, and the offender was given a fixed penalty notice of £500.

Buckinghamshire Council has confirmed that the fine has now been paid in full.

Then, on September 2, another penalty was issued after a driver of a truck was caught throwing a paper bag with contents out of another moving vehicle.

This occurred along the A412 in Denham and was picked up by CCTV cameras in the area.

The unitary authority said: “The driver could have taken the litter to journey's end and binned it lawfully free of charge.”

A £500 fine was issued and it has now been paid in full.
