A hefty fine has been issued to a driver who fly-tipped boxed up vegetables in a small village.

On February 7 this year, a large amount of the goods were left along Hollybush Lane in Denham.

After Buckinghamshire Council were made aware and launched an investigation,  it was revealed that the driver of the van in question was ‘with two friend who asked to stop to urinate and didn't know they were dumping waste’, according to Bucks Fly-Tipping.

They then added that the driver ‘would not provide details of his friends’ so therefore accepted responsibility of the crime.

The fine has not been disclosed, but fixed penalty notices for dumping waste in the county begins at £500.

The penalty in question has since been paid in full.
