UPDATE: This article initially contained a photo shared by Thames Valley Police of a recovery vehicle collecting a car. The force has since confirmed that this vehicle was not involved in the offences and has removed the image.

A driver stopped by police has failed a cocaine drug wipe amid an operation across Bucks.

Last week, officers from Amersham were in Marlow to conduct Operation Limit checks.

TVP Roads Policing said: "The team stopped a number of vehicles and found a mix of concerns."

These included five overweight vehicles 'putting extra strain on brakes and tyres', two overweight recovery trucks, and an untaxed recovery truck 'since August 2024'.

The force stated that a panel van with three wheel nuts missing and front indicators painted over 'a serious risk to everyone on the road'.

It added that there had been a 'van towing a trailer with no rear number plate and an insecure load – dangerous and illegal'.

It referred to the driver failing the drug wipe for cocaine as 'completely unacceptable'.

Police said: "These checks aren’t about inconvenience – they’re about keeping roads safe for everyone.

"If you’re driving for work, make sure your vehicle is legal and roadworthy.

"It's not worth the risk. "
