A pub in Buckinghamshire has been described as "fantastic" and "picture-perfect" by delighted customers.

The Spade Oak Hotel shares that it is a premium pub that offers "a real country pub experience".

On Tripadvisor, the pub has a rating of 3.5 out of 5 from more than 940 reviews, including 360 'excellent' rated reviews.

Elsewhere, on Google Reviews, The Spade Oak has a score of 4.2 out of 5 from more than 1,380 reviews.

The 'picture perfect' Buckinghamshire pub

The Gate was recently named among Hertfordshire's 'picture-perfect' pubs in a list by Premium Country.

The list highlighted the county's pubs that offer scenic sights, great food, and drink

The pub is "perfectly equipped to satisfy your appetite, no matter what the occasion", according to The Spade Oak website.

Guests can expect a stylish design throughout the venue, with a mix of contemporary and traditional décor creating a relaxing and comfortable environment.

The pub serves a menu that is inspired by the changing seasons and is "dedicated to using quality fresh ingredients".

The Spade Oak has a range of menus, including its lunch set option, weeknight escape, all-day menu, and Sunday choice.

Menu items include pan-roasted lamb rump, asparagus and squash orzo, tarragon-battered line-caught haddock, British half rotisserie chicken, pan-roasted salmon, and signature duo of pork.

Guests can also choose from premium steak cuts: a 7oz fillet steak or a 10oz rib-eye steak, both aged for a minimum of 21 days.

On Sunday, guests can enjoy a Sunday roast dinner, with the option of sirloin of beef, half roast chicken, slow-cooked pork belly, sweet potato, butternut and chestnut roast, and the trio of roasts.

On Tripadvisor, one guest said: "We really enjoyed the food at The Spade Oak Hotel, Bourne End. The chicken skewers were excellent – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and nicely presented.

"The mushrooms in port wine sauce were a standout side, rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious.

"Everything tasted freshly made and well thought out, and the flavours worked beautifully together.
