The critically acclaimed Broadway and West End production of To Kill a Mockingbird is coming to Milton Keynes Theatre.

Aaron Sorkin’s stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s iconic novel will run from Tuesday, May 19 to Saturday, May 23 as part of its first UK and Ireland tour.

Set in 1934 Alabama, the story follows lawyer Atticus Finch as he resolves to uncover the truth in a town that seems determined to hide it.

The role of Atticus Finch will be played by Patrick O’Kane throughout the show’s Milton Keynes run.

Other cast members include Anna Munden as Scout Finch, Gabriel Scott as Jem Finch, Dylan Malyn as Dill Harris, Andrea Davy as Calpurnia, and Stephen Boxer as Judge Taylor.

The novel To Kill a Mockingbird, inspired by Lee’s childhood, has sold more than 45 million copies worldwide and won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature.

Aaron Sorkin is best known for creating The West Wing and writing The Social Network, which won an Academy Award.

His adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird has already enjoyed successful, sold-out runs in both Broadway and the West End.

The production is directed by Bartlett Sher with design by Miriam Buether, costumes by Ann Roth, lighting by Jennifer Tipton, and sound by Scott Lehrer.

The team also includes Adam Guettel as the composer of the original score, and Kimberley Grigsby as musical supervisor.

The UK and Ireland tour is presented by Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, in association with Karl Sydow and Tulchin Bartner.

To Kill a Mockingbird is recommended for audiences aged 12 and above.

The performance lasts two hours and 50 minutes, including an interval.

People are warned that the production contains racially explicit language and themes, as well as references to sexual abuse and violence.

There will be brief gunfire audio effects during the performance.
