A man convicted of raping a child in Chesham previously ran a successful YouTube channel, it has emerged.

Mathew Miller, 50, abused the victim between 2017 and 2019, Amersham Law Courts heard.

It has since come to light that Miller operated a YouTube channel with more than 156,000 subscribers and over 28 million views.

A self-employed electrical engineer, Miller carried out the offence at a property in Chesham.

His channel, called TechMinds, featured videos reviewing amateur radio equipment. He uploaded around 640 videos since creating the page in 2015.

The channel’s associated Patreon account appears to have been removed, although a PayPal link linked to it remains accessible.

The most recent video, posted on February 19, has received more than 38,000 views.

Following a trial, the jury unanimously found Miller guilty of one count of raping a child.

Miller, of Cromhamstone, Stone, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with nine years to be served in custody.

He will be eligible to apply for release after six years.

He has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
