A string of offenders have been sentenced for serious crimes including drug dealing and child cruelty.

Courts in and around Buckinghamshire have recently handed down jail terms to individuals involved in offences ranging from drug supply to the assault of a young child.

Here is a round-up of some of the latest cases:

JOHN MCCLOUD

John McCloud, aged 39 and of Crest Road, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

A search by police led to the discovery of 43 wraps of crack cocaine weighing 5.34g, three wraps of heroin weighing 0.98g, £289 in cash, and two mobile phones.

RAMMA POTUMUDI

Ramana Potumudi, 58, of no fixed abode, was jailed for one year and nine months for child cruelty and battery.

Potumudi repeatedly assaulted a baby girl in Milton Keynes on November 27, 2025.

She pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court on January 21 to one count of assault, ill-treatment, neglect, or abandonment of a child likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury. 

The victim did not sustain any injuries from the repeated assaults. 

LUCAS GOMES

Lucas Gomes, 30, of Barnet Road, Barnet, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on June 11 after admitting possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of a class B drug.

He was detained following a road traffic collision on Buckingham Road in Aylesbury on March 18.

A search revealed 28 individual bags of cocaine and a quantity of cannabis resin.

SHAZA RIAZ

Shaza Riaz, 35, of Abercromby Avenue, High Wycombe, was jailed for 12 weeks after pleading guilty to nine counts of shoplifting.

Appearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 24, he was also handed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order.

Between May 28 and June 21, Riaz carried out a series of thefts from the Tesco Express on New Road, High Wycombe stealing goods worth an estimated £360.

DUARTE DE JESUS

A man who was found to have over £500,000 worth of drugs as well as numerous weapons was jailed for over five years. 

Duarte De Jesus, 44, of Langley Park Road, was sentenced to five years and five months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on June 1.

He pleaded guilty to multiple drug offences, including three counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs (cocaine, MDMA, Psilocin, and Psilocybin), two counts of possession with intent to supply class B drugs (cannabis and cannabis resin), and one count of possession with intent to supply a class C drug (etizolam).

He also plead guilty to possessing a firearm of less than 30cm/60cm in length and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
