A care home has marked Restart a Heart Day with a hands-on event to boost CPR confidence.

Portobello Place in Chesham, Buckinghamshire organised the session to raise awareness and promote lifesaving skills among residents and staff.

The care home is part of the Berkley Care Group, and the event was inspired by Berkley’s training team, Emma and Louisa, who help promote CPR awareness across the group.

The home’s bistro was decorated with themed displays, and guests were invited to take part using CPR practice pillows supplied by Resuscitation UK.

Gita Maksimova, events manager at Portobello Place, said: "#RestartAHeart Day is such an important initiative, and it was wonderful to see how much residents and staff engaged with it.

"We talk a lot about trust, responsibility, and initiative at Berkley, and this event captured those values perfectly.

"It was also a lovely example of community spirit – Jenny’s talk was inspiring, and everyone left feeling that little bit more confident about what to do in an emergency."
