A care home has celebrated the Festival of Lights with a day full of colour, music, and togetherness.

Chalfont Lodge in Gerrards Cross marked Diwali with glowing decorations, vibrant saris, and a menu of delicious traditional dishes, filling the home with the sights, sounds, and scents of the festival.

The celebration was a joyful gathering of residents, staff, and families, who spent the day sharing stories, laughter, and the spirit of Diwali—a festival that symbolises the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

Raj Boohdoo said: "We love celebrating cultural events like Diwali.

"It’s a wonderful opportunity for residents to experience new traditions, enjoy the colours and music, and come together as one big family."

One of the highlights of the day was a lively dance session, where residents and staff learned traditional Diwali dances together.

The music and movement brought smiles and laughter all around, creating a warm sense of unity and shared joy.

The Diwali celebration was well-received by everyone in attendance.
