An 'illegal driving lesson' was intercepted by police who seized a vehicle on a Bucks street, as a criminal investigation begins.

A driving lesson was stopped by officers who found that a student was paying £37.50 per hour for an 'unqualified instructor'.

The instructor has now had their insurance invalidated, their vehicle seized, and six points on their licence as a probe gets underway.

The force has issued a warning, telling people who are paying for professional driving lessons to check for a green or pink DVSA badge in the instructor's windscreen.

Thames Valley Police Roads Policing stated: "Illegal driving lesson intercepted today in Bletchley.

"Student unaware but paying £37.50 per hour for an unqualified instructor.

"Insurance invalidated, 6 points for ‘instructor’, criminal investigation commenced and vehicle seized.

"Paying for professional driving lessons?

"Is your instructor displaying a green or pink DVSA badge in the windscreen?"
