A Bucks MP has backed the budget plans set out by Rishi Sunak this afternoon.

The chancellor set out his budget plans this afternoon in the House of Commons and Joy Morrissey believes that the support package will allow the UK economy to start again.

Allowing small businesses to open again is “of paramount importance” according to the Conservative MP and she also embraces the VAT and Business Rates freeze.

It was also announced that the furlough scheme will be extended until the end of September, and employees will continue to receive 80% of their salary for hours not worked.

She said: “The Budget today provides the financial foundation we need to get the UK moving again as we follow the Prime Minister’s roadmap out of lockdown.

“Getting our small businesses going again is of paramount importance and I warmly welcome the measures announced today by the Chancellor including the VAT and Business Rates freeze.

Reopening of schools and local businesses has been a consistent priority to the Beaconsfield MP who also backed Boris Johnson’s roadmap out of lockdown.

She continued: “I have been clear that the key priorities of recovery are to get our children back into school and then open our small businesses - the Budget today gives us the tools to do exactly that.”
