A Bucks town takeaway has applied to extend its opening hours later into the night to "serve local demand".

A licensing application made under the name Smash n Fry for 133 Broad Street, Chesham, which houses Super Grill.

The takeaway is located under residential properties and currently lists its opening hours as being 2 - 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and 12pm - 1am Friday to Saturday.

The new application is seeking to provide 'late night refreshment', until midnight Sunday to Thursday and until 2am.

The proposal said: "The premises operates solely as a hot food takeaway and delivery service.

"There is no sale of alcohol and no regulated entertainment.

"The premises is located beneath residential accommodation.

"Management acknowledges the need to operate in a manner that does not cause disturbance to residents.

"Background music, if played, will be kept at a low level and will not be audible outside the premises."

It adds that doors and windows would be closed after 11pm except for access, and that signage would request customers to "eave quietly and respect nearby residents, particularly during late night hours".

The proposal concludes: "The management will take all reasonable steps to ensure the premises operates responsibly and does not negatively impact the local community."

A consultation on the proposal is open until March 25.
