An e-scooter clampdown by police has seen 16 scooters seized in a day in a Bucks town after they were 'being used illegally'.

Aylesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team's Operation Pulse day of action saw a van-load of scooters taken off the streets by the force.

The vehicles 'posed a real risk to riders and the wider community' according to police, and there are plans to continue enforcement against e-scooter public use as part of a Safer Streets campaign.

TVP Aylesbury Vale stated: "Here’s a look at yesterday’s haul of seized e‑scooters, taken off the streets during our latest Operation PULSE day of action.

"These vehicles were being used illegally and posed a real risk to both riders and the wider community.

"The Aylesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue this work as part of the Safer Streets campaign, focusing on education, engagement, and enforcement.

"Privately‑owned e‑scooters remain illegal to use on public roads, pavements, and cycle paths, and can be seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act."

"Our priority is keeping the community safe, and we’ll keep updating you as this work continues."
