A CALL has sounded for the council to clear a series of lay-bys on a road of piles of rubbish left by fly-tippers.

Bucks Council has received a demand to rid “every lay-by” along the Uxbridge Road between Slough and Iver of ‘illegally dumped’ waste that one person said had been there “quite a while”.

The call went out over social media, condemning the “terrible mess” the roadside had become.

Images shared online show what appear to be ditches filled with bulging bags, building materials and boxes, as well as a lamp and a television.

“I think these areas are regularly used by illegal fly-tippers,” the person said.

It is understood the mess can be found on the left travelling from Slough to Iver.

“Every lay-by I’ve looked at today looks like this,” the person wrote online on February 25. “These are all the lay-bys along the left from Slough to Iver on the Uxbridge Road, they are all full of rubbish.

“A lot of the rubbish has been there quite a while.

“All have been reported to @BucksCouncil via @fixmystreet.

“@cleanupbritain @ClearWasteApp what a terrible mess our roadsides are in.”

Buckinghamshire Council was approached for comment.
