A waitress from Beaconsfield has earned one of the highest accolades in hospitality.

Natalie Sherriff, head waiter at The Greyhound, was named an 'Achiever' in the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts’ Annual Awards of Excellence, which honours rising stars in the industry through a demanding competition for service professionals.

Her award places her alongside talent from some of the UK’s top venues, including The Ritz, The Fat Duck, and Gleneagles Hotel.

She said: “I feel very honoured to receive the AAE. I absolutely love what I do; hospitality has opened doors to me that I never knew existed!

“Not only do you get to work with some amazing professionals, you get to visit some incredible places and you also get to meet the most fantastic guests.

“It’s a privilege to represent the Greyhound and to be the 3rd person in 3 consecutive years to win!”

Candidates must pass practical and theoretical tests covering food, drink, service techniques, guest care and problem-solving.

Ms Sherriff’s achievement also marks the third consecutive year The Greyhound has produced an AAE Achiever.

Daniel Crump, co-owner of The Greyhound, said: "We’re immensely proud of Natalie.

"To be recognised in an awards programme of this calibre is a fantastic achievement, particularly when you’re being judged alongside professionals from some of the most respected restaurants and hotels in the country.

"For a small independent restaurant in Beaconsfield to produce an achiever for the third year running is something we’re incredibly proud of."
