BGT 2026 golden buzzer awarded after act leaves judges in tears on fourth semi-final
The latest golden buzzer in Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals this year has been pressed, sending another act through to the final.
The fourth semi-final of BGT 2026 aired tonight (May 16), as eight more acts battled it out for a place in this year's final in two weeks.
In each semi-final this year, one judge has the power to press the golden buzzer and send an act straight into the final, with Simon Cowell deciding this evening.
They will be joined in the final by the winner of tonight's semi-final show, decided through the public vote and revealed at the end of the show.
Who was awarded the golden buzzer in the fourth BGT 2026 semi-final?
The fourth semi-final tonight saw the following acts take part:
-
Wei Yamin - music/pyrotechnics act
-
Welsch Master Team - gymnastics team
-
Ren DMC - singer
-
Glantaf Boys Choir - a choir group from Wales
-
Sonny Green - poet
-
Rafferty Coope - magician and KSI's golden buzzer during the audition stages
-
Epic Sax Guy - musician
-
Kristel Herrera - singer
At the start of the show, Simon Cowell questioned what would happen if he did not press his golden buzzer for any acts.
Ant and Dec informed him that it would revert to the old format and the top two acts in the public vote would go through.
However, the head judge did decide to press the golden buzzer for poet Sonny Green.
Sonny left the audience and judges feeling emotional after his poetry about his relationship with his sons.
Judge KSI was left in floods of tears, saying: "It really hit me.
"I know my relationship with my dad isn't the best, so hearing those words, it makes me really think about what I need to improve on."
Alesha said the performance was "magic", adding: "It makes us feel something and I watched the whole thing with a smile on my face."
Who has been given the BGT 2026 live golden buzzers so far?
After tonight, four golden buzzers have now been pressed in this year's live semi-finals.
These are:
- Singer Matty Juniosa – semi-final one – pressed by Amanda Holden
- Dance group LMA - semi-final two – pressed by Alesha Dixon
- Fire-juggler Liwei Yang - semi-final three - pressed by KSI
- Poet Sonny Green - semi-final four - pressed by Simon Cowell
How many semi-finals are there for BGT 2026?
There will be five live semi-finals for the 2026 series of Britain’s Got Talent in total, with just one left after tonight’s episode (May 16).
The final live semi-final will all air next Saturday, May 23.
The BGT 2026 final is on Saturday, May 30, live on ITV and ITVX.
