An award-winning restaurant has been ranked the best in Buckinghamshire despite a past food hygiene report.

Radhuni Lounge Restaurant in Princes Risborough is described as the "finest" Indian restaurant and takeaway in the region.

However, the restaurant previously faced some tough times after it claimed it was "unfairly inspected" by the Buckinghamshire Council.

In April, Radhuni Lounge was given a hygiene rating of 1/5, dropping from its previous 5/5 score.

At the time of the rating, Akther Miah, who runs Radhuni, told Bucks Free Press that the restaurant was working hard to regain its high score.

In August, the restaurant had a new inspection where it was given a new rating of 4/5, following improvement.

Since the second inspection, Radhuni has regained its reputation and is the highest rated Indian restaurant in Buckinghamshire.

On Tripadvisor, the spot has an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 from more than 1,600 reviews, with over 1,440 rated 'excellent'.

Elsewhere, on Google Reviews, Radhuni Lounge Restaurant has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 700 reviews.

Buckinghamshire's highest-rated Indian restaurant

Radhuni Lounge Restaurant's website shares that the spot offers "a world of enlightenment and luxury", adding that all guests are welcomed with "warm ambience".

The restaurant is set within a Victorian building that boasts Gothic Revival style with high ceilings and an interior of plush seating and warm lighting.

The website adds that today, Radhuni Lounge stands as "a testament to the beauty and elegance of Victorian architecture, and as a venue for the finest dining in Princess Risborough".

Radhuni Lounge Restaurant has won several awards since first opening in 2004, with its first being in 2017 for the Best Chef by Curry Life.

In October 2024, the Buckinghamshire spot won the Champion of Champions award by ARTA.

The restaurant offers a range of meals catering to all taste buds, including butter chicken, tikka masala, kata gosht and shai chicken to name a few options.

You can also try traditional dishes, including curries like madras, rogan, korma, bhuna, jalfrezi and dhansak.

On Tripadvisor, one recent guest to Radhuni Lounge Restaurant said: "Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and fantastic service.
