Atul Kochhar’s Sindhu in Marlow will reopen on Saturday, July 4 with a new look.

The Indian restaurant, which is now taking bookings, was one of many to shut their doors on March 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic, as the country entered a three-month period of lockdown.

But following the announcement in June that pubs and restaurants were able to continue trading, Sindhu has had a makeover as the entrance, eating and bar area have been changed.

The entrance now features bronze door handles, which leads through to a meet-and-greet unit with fabric panels and counter table lamps.

The restaurant has got new wallpaper, ceiling lights, and a log burner that will replace the fireplace.

And the bar has also had some changes, with the back mirror being replaced with tiles.

Atul Kochhar said: “It was heartbreaking to close our doors back in March but I’m so incredibly excited to welcome back patrons on Saturday.

“We’ve received so many messages of support from our local community and we’re ready to once again cook up a storm and bring the flavours, tastes and aromas of Indian cuisine to Marlow.

“I’m also very proud of our refurbishment.

“The new décor harnesses the colour and beauty of India while showcasing a range of modern design accents.

“Our overarching aim is to create a warm and inviting space for couples, friends, and families to enjoy a beautiful meal.”

Kochhar’s second Marlow restaurant Vaasu will also open but from July 10 for takeaways.
