A “dangerous” dog is set to be put down after it seriously injured a child in a terrifying attack.

Magistrates at Wycombe Magistrates Court ordered that a large German Shepherd named Ramsey should be “destroyed” after deeming that he was a “danger to public safety.”

The court heard how on December 31, 2020, in Bakers Wood Road in Denham, Ramsey was “dangerously out of control” when he attacked a man and a child.

The attack from the trained security dog was unprovoked and the court heard how the pair suffered “serious injury and distress”.

At the hearing on May 4, 28-year-old Aleksandra Riabchenko, of Harwood Gardens in Denham, pleaded guilty to two counts of being an owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

As well as having Ramsey put down, Riabchenko was ordered to pay £100 in compensation and an £80 fine.

The magistrates ruled that there was “no evidence or assessment” that Ramsey could be safe around the public, and found that the only option was to put him down.

A note attached to the court sentencing document read: “Destruction of the dog ordered as the justices are not satisfied that there is any evidence or assessment that the dog Ramsey will not be a danger to public safety.

“He has been trained as a security dog and there was an unprovoked attack by him causing serious injury and distress.”
