Five people have received fines after they were caught illegally using a disabled parking badge.

As part of the latest campaign launched by Buckinghamshire Council, Parking Enforcement Officers were out in force in numerous areas of the county, including Aylesbury, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross on October 28.

In total, 163 blue badges were inspected across the three locations, and as a result, three were seized due to being expired.

In each case, the badge holder had a valid replacement but had failed to remove the old one, potentially misleading enforcement officers.

Additionally, five Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) were also issued during the day.

Steve Bowles, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “Blue Badge permits are a vital support for residents with mobility challenges.

“Misusing them not only undermines the system but also disadvantages those who genuinely need access to disabled parking.

"This operation reinforces our message: misuse will not be tolerated.”

Robert Carington, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources, added: “Every time a Blue Badge is misused, it takes away a space from someone who truly needs it.

“We’re committed to protecting the integrity of the scheme and ensuring it remains fair and accessible for those who rely on it.”

A spokesperson from the council added: “The council continues to encourage residents to report suspected misuse of Blue Badges.

“Reports can be made confidentially via the council’s website: Report the abuse of a Blue Badge.”
