Dear Editor,

I am a concerned homeowner living in the Sands area of High Wycombe.

Cars are parked in St George's Court, Park View Court and Dovetail Close that do not belong to the residents of these roads but to people who live in Eaton Avenue. It is thought they trade cars and have nowhere to park them, so use these roads, parking on pavements, across corners, blocking drives of other people who live in Eaton Avenue.

The residents of all of these roads are putting up with cars parked where they shouldn't be, sometimes dangerously, and not being able to do anything about it. In Park View Court there are notices stating parking is just for residents but these are ignored. Some of these cars are not roadworthy or haven’t got tax or MOT.

There was a survey about the parking and driving in areas of High Wycombe. I have written to the police and Buckinghamshire County Council to ask if this can this be investigated and action taken to deter people parking where they shouldn't.

There have also been rumours of drug dealing along the same part of Eaton Avenue and there is a house that seems to be running a food delivery service as a lot of people congregate on bikes, and drive around the area, not always safely.

Parts of Sands are becoming run down and deteriorating with littering and fly-tipping around the streets and Desborough Recreation Ground, including in the river. There are sometimes little plastic bags lying around which are apparently used for drugs. I am calling for something be done between the police and the council to discourage this behaviour. Myself and other residents hope action can be taken about these worries.
