June 2013 - Service Pack 3 for MS Office 2007 has just been issued (the first SP since 2009) and will be available as an optional download for 90 days through Microsoft Updates. If you want you can download it directly from here. This update also applies to Microsoft Office Project, Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer, Microsoft Office Visio, and Visual Web Developer.

The Microsoft Security Bulletin for June includes 16 security updates, including seven for the Windows operating system, two for the Windows Internet Explorer browser, and one for Microsoft Office Excel. If you haven't enabled auto updates then get the fixes here.

Did you know that Microsoft receives $5 for every HTC Android phone sold? more... · I've never been a great fan of Dell computers but this newly released DELL XPS 15z Laptop PC does look the good on paper but I would probably buy three of these Acer Aspire 5742z for the same amount of money instead. (wow they all went very quickly at £270 each!)

Patch Tuesday saw Microsoft release a record 64 updates for Operating Systems and applications ranging right through their product portfolio. Another reason to use Ubuntu and online applications? However, very little is said about the Apple security patches which seem quite numerous this month. Whichever OS you are running make sure you apply the relevant security patches - they are really important.

There are some pretty damning results from Which? magazine on the poor quality of diagnosis and repairs from the main High Street retail outlets who should have cured the staged problems presented to them. Techradar has a report. I wouldn't recommend the DIY repair mention at Which? but to drop it round to us and we'll have a look for you. We certainly won't leave you high and dry.
